LEARN HOW TO BOOST YOUR STAMINA
The personal trainers of Leesburg’s Svetness Fitness & Nutrition want our clients to get the most out of every workout. The pursuit of physical fitness is an ongoing challenge of a multi-faceted nature. One of those many facets is stamina, or endurance. Building stamina is an essential component to any regular workout routine. Here are a few tips to help you increase endurance.
Food & Water Your body will be able to work longer and harder if it is working with the ideal fuels, and amounts thereof. Eating frequent, smaller meals throughout the day is a good way to keep from working out with a lump of undigested food weighing you down. Snack on protein- and carbohydrate-rich foods, and avoid fat and empty calories. Also make sure you’re drinking plenty of water to help make sure those nutrients get to where they’re needed.
Rest It’s really hard to give a workout the most that you’re capable of when you haven’t gotten a full night of sleep. Seven to nine hours is the ideal amount of sleep needed to refresh your mind as well as your body. During workouts and personal training sessions, however, try to reduce your resting time between exercises. Eventually you’ll be able to work out for longer periods of solid activity, which is the definition of endurance!
Staying Active If your workouts or personal training sessions are the only times during the day in which you’re physically active, that’s a problem. Get in the habit of finding ways to be active throughout your day. Choose a parking spot that requires you to walk a little farther to reach your destination. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Use your imagination, and you’ll be able to come up with all kinds of ways to keep moving!
